Giraffe Centre
Jock Leslie-Melville, the Kenyan grandson of a Scottish Earl, founded the Giraffe Centre when he and his wife Betty captured a newborn giraffe to begin a program of breeding giraffes in captivity at their home in Langata, which is now the location of the current center.

Multiple breeding pairs of Rothschild Giraffe have now been introduced into Kenyan national parks as a result of the program’s enormous success since that time. It is situated at Karen, about 5 kilometers from Nairobi’s downtown.

Ngong Hills
