Hickeys also known as love bites are merely bruises on the skin caused when one partner gets carried away. They are nothing to be embarrassed about; in fact, they are an indication that you got some attention. However, not every circumstance calls for the wearing of a hickey.

Although there are several hickey cures that help hasten the process, you can’t get rid of a hickey right away. Here are some tips to speed up the process.

The spoon tricks
By decreasing blood flow and cooling down the blood vessels, a cold object like a chilly spoon, frozen peas or even ice can do this. The best way to speed up the healing of a hickey is to use only this technique.
Although there isn’t much proof that the cold spoon method helps with hickeys particularly, it is a doctor-recommended procedure for treating bruises, and a hickey is just a sort of a bruise.

Use warm water
Start alternating with heat after using a cold compress for a few days. Numerous warm compresses administered throughout the day may improve blood flow to the affected area and hasten the healing of the bruise.

Rub alcohol to clean

Use aloe vera or cocoa butter to moisturize

Since it may improve blood flow to the area, peppermint oil and toothpaste are occasionally recommended as home remedies for hickeys. Apply it gently to the hickey after diluting a few drops with water. Be careful not to rub it too vigorously since it could aggravate the skin and the bruise.

Make use of apple cider vinegar
A natural disinfectant is apple cider vinegar. Acetic acid, which is present has antibacterial and antifungal properties. This may help prevent skin infections, regulate the pH levels of the skin and generally improve the health of your skin.

Eat pineapple
Bromelain, an enzyme found in pineapples, has been demonstrated to quicken the healing of bruises according to research. Vitamin C which is healthy for your skin is also present in pineapple. To relieve swelling and inflammation, bromelain can also be administered directly to the skin.

Rub with banana peel
