Mike Sonko has found himself on the losing end once again after the Supreme Court rejected his appeal, and upheld his impeachment as Nairobi Governor.The decision potentially means he has been locked out from vying in Mombasa’s gubernatorial race.
The seven-judge bench found no fault in the impeachment process that ousted him as Nairobi Governor deeming it constitutional.

The Supreme Court’s ruling is in line with IEBC’s subsequent move to deny him participation in the forthcoming election on the same premise.
In their ruling, the Supreme Court upheld the decision based on the ground that Sonko was given adequate time to respond to the charges leveled against him.
The court also found the County Assembly and Senate’s decision constitutional and substantial enough to hold ground against Sonko.
