The musician didn’t mince words when he said he wished to leave the gospel music industry.

The singer’s comments have subsequently prompted conflicting responses from followers.

“AM QUITE GOSPEL MUSIC NOW SORRY AT
MY FANS AM POST REASONING WHY TOMORROW,” Apoko wrote,
in a rather ungrammatical statement on Instagram.

Since then, his comment has caused alarm among many Kenyans, with some criticizing him and others encouraging him to take the action. Since he made his gospel music debut in Kenya, Apoko has garnered attention thanks to his prodigious musical skill and the excellent gospel songs he has created.

The singer would not, however, discuss the primary factor that led to his departure from the gospel sector. Even so, Apoko apologized to his followers as he left the gospel business that had once made him famous despite the contentious declaration from the purported “gospel
chairman.”

In a video on his Instagram page, the gospel singer said his reason for quitting gospel music is to venture into secular music.

“I take this chance to thank all the gospel artists that have supported me till the end of time and urge the secular artists not to see me as a competition or be threatened.”

Ringtone will follow in the footsteps of other Kenyan artists who have left the gospel sector at various points, including Bahati, Willy Paul, Jimmy Gait, Wheezman, and Havoc.
