The Roots Party led by Presidential Candidate, George Wajackoyah, and his running mate, Justina Wambui, officially rolled out their party’s manifesto on their way to the August Polls.

The Roots Party has continually made progress in attaining popularity amongst the citizens with only 39 days left to the General Election.

It was a striking sight during the launch of the Roots Party Manifesto that attracted a mammoth crowd, with people standing along the streets avidly watching the screens along the roads in the cold night hours.

With the slogan ‘Tingiza mti’, Roots Party aims at bringing about the change through an economic revamp. Wajackoyah said that an acre of Marijuana can earn a farmer KSh 8 million per harvest.

The agendas are mainly formulated to foresee a turnaround in the economy as the nation is faced with high living standards and an increase in unemployment rates.

The legalization of Marijuana ran as the main agenda for the party as Wajackoyah strongly believes it is in the country’s best interest to urgently deal with debts currently at $10 Trillion.

“The whole of Nyeri county is 583,000 acres. This means that if we grew Bangi in Nyeri county, Nyeri residents will earn $45 Billion or Shs.4.6 trillion per harvest. If

Bhang is grown in Nyeri it means Nyeri residents will earn $92 Billion or Shs.9.2 trillion every year which means in a year the country would make enough to pay the whole debts,” he said.

Wajackoyah insisted that through the legalization of bhang for its resourcefulness in Nyeri alone, every Kenyan will be able to get a dividend cheque of sh 200,000 every year from the sale of bhang.

Citing the numerous outcomes from the planting of bhang; one being the use of hemp in medicinal fields. Hemp can be used in the manufacture of medicine since hemp oil is rich in Vitamin E which is useful for helping keep your immune system functioning.

Hemp seeds are enriched in not only vitamins but also minerals and nutrients that are significant with health benefits. Properties within contribute to reduced risks of illnesses like Alzheimer’s disease and cardiovascular disease.

Hemp is a nature’s purifier with the capability of capturing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, quickening the clean-up of the air we breathe making it a much more effective sequester of carbon dioxide than trees.

Hemp has cosmetic and skin benefits, values that when processed involve; acne relief, hair treatments, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and even soothing rough patches of eczema or psoriasis.

Its use in the textile industry is a major one that can’t be overlooked for its fast growth. Use of hemp as the main fabric for the maritime manufacture of rope and sails as well as in the textile industry for making cloth.

Prof George Wajackoyah, “Bangi is our next cash crop. It grows wildly in Mt.Kenya. The question is if we required the permission of mzungus who have NOW legalized Bangi, why shouldn’t we LEGALIZE it?”
