Raila should consider legalising Bhang, Wajackoyah makes sense – David Murathe

By Mujidu Victor,

Jubilee Party Vice-Chairman David Murathe has said there is a need for the Azimio coalition to absorb the trade reforms recently publicised by Roots Party Presidential Candidate Prof. George Wajackoyah, regarding the legalization of bhang in the country.

According to Murathe, Azimio should lodge a discussion with Wajackoyah with regards to Marijuana reforms since the plant is seriously benefitting other countries that are growing it for medical reasons.

“It is not your normal weed. This is medicinal… You are not telling us to grow weed in Galana or Mwea instead of food security, I like it in theory,” he said on AM Live.

Murathe added that he will request the Azimio Presidential to consider the reform in the economy’s interest.

“We are asking him to consider in the next dispensation… for medicinal purposes because the numbers Wajackoyah is giving are making sense,” said Murathe.

With the recent poll by TIFA placing the Roots Party leader third in the presidential race, Murathe says the ‘Wajackoyah effect’ does not worry them, instead, is a threat to William Ruto since their agendas are in touch with youngsters.

Who is he hurting, he is definitely not hurting out corner. If Wajackoyah was to change any dynamic… it is the deputy president’s corner that should be very worried,” he said.

Murathe said Wajackoyah’s political pace should not be underrated considering that it will interfere with numbers.

He further dismissed the possibility of the Wajackoyah factor denying Azimio a win in the first round of the General Election.

However, hopefully, “Wajackoyah the 5th” has recently established a huge political fanbase for his promises of the legalization of bhang and the establishment of snake farms as a way of offsetting the government debts.

Part of his campaign strategy is to plant bhang along the Nairobi Expressway if by any chance, he is elected President come August 9.

The Roots Party presidential candidate says he will remove all flowers planted on the Nairobi Expressway and replace them with marijuana.

“There are flowers planted along the Nairobi Expressway for beautification purposes. That is a place that can be replaced with bhang. If you go around the Nairobi Expressway, you will find some flowers that have died. Why do we need all those decorations yet people are dying? All those flowers will be replaced with bhang,” he said.

Professor Wajackoyah is outspoken about the legalization of bhang saying it will enable Kenyans to settle the country’s debts as well as stabilize their economy.

Through the lens of how he will lead the country, Wajackoyah said the first 100 days would be “purely for public participation” on how to go about legalizing hemp in a country that has, since colonial days, known it as an illegal plant.
