Police officers have launched a manhunt for the house help who allegedly robbed her employer’s cash and jewelry.

A police report indicates that Gaichuhie’s wife Charity Mungai, came home from work only to find the house help missing with the cash and jewelry.

Gaichuhie had apparently placed the KSh 4 million cash in their wardrobe.

“It was reported by Charity Mungai that upon return from work at around 1500 hours she found the house help missing, and while checking the house she realized that her jewelry worth KSh 500, 000 and cash KSh 4 million which had been placed in the wardrobe by her husband Gaichuhie, missing as well,” the police report read.

Muinde, the suspect is said to have switched off her phone on Wednesday at around 10am.

According to DCI detectives, the suspect’s last trace placed her at Rongai, in Kajiado County.

The officers established that there was no sign of a break-in at the scene of the crime, which leaves Muinde as the main suspect.

The cases of househelps fleeing with their employers’ valuables have been on the rise. Last month, another house help was charged with stealing her employer’s KSh 104 million.
