Kenya Airways has announced special repatriation flights between Nairobi and Dubai amid heightened political tension in the Middle East that temporarily disrupted regular air travel operations.
In a customer advisory dated March 4, 2026, the national carrier confirmed it will operate a Nairobi to Dubai repatriation flight on March 4, 2026, and a Dubai to Nairobi repatriation flight on March 5, 2026.
The flights will operate following slot approval by Dubai Airport Management and guidance from UAE authorities.
Limited Operations at Dubai International Airport
The move follows the partial reopening of Dubai International Airport (DXB), where authorities permitted a small number of flights strictly for repatriation purposes starting March 2, 2026.
Kenya Airways emphasized that these are not regular scheduled commercial flights, but special repatriation services designed to assist UAE citizens and residents currently in Nairobi who wish to return to Dubai, as well as Kenyan citizens and other eligible travelers in Dubai seeking to travel back to Nairobi.
Advisory for Passengers in Dubai
The airline has urged customers in Dubai not to proceed to DXB Airport until they receive confirmed departure details directly from Kenya Airways. Passengers have been advised to check their flight status via the airline’s official website and update their contact information through the Manage Booking option to ensure direct communication.
Kenya Airways noted that affected customers will be contacted directly with further instructions once departure times are finalized.
While limited repatriation operations are underway, Kenya Airways clarified that scheduled commercial flights to and from Dubai have not yet resumed.
The airline stated that it will provide further updates and share a confirmed schedule once full operational approvals are granted by UAE authorities.
The carrier reiterated that the safety of its crew and passengers remains its highest priority as the situation continues to evolve.
