The Office of the 4th President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta, has addressed reports regarding an intended visit by a group of young people to his private residence in Ichaweri, Gatundu.
In a statement released on February 22, 2026, and signed by Secretary Communication Kanze Dena Mararo, the Office acknowledged the enthusiasm and patriotism of Kenya’s youth while clarifying that the former Head of State is currently not in a position to host the group.
According to the statement, Former President Kenyatta deeply values the energy, ideas, and civic commitment demonstrated by young Kenyans.
He maintains that intergenerational dialogue remains critical in shaping Kenya’s future and strengthening democratic participation.
The Office emphasized that constructive engagement between leaders and young citizens plays a vital role in fostering national unity and policy discourse.
Call for Structured and Peaceful Dialogue
While expressing appreciation for the initiative, the Office urged organizers of such visits to formally communicate in advance to allow for proper planning and coordination.
“President Kenyatta remains open to meeting and exchanging views in a dignified manner that fosters unity and mutual respect,” the statement read.
The communication further underscored the importance of orderly and structured dialogue, encouraging all parties to prioritize engagement over confrontation.
The Office concluded by reaffirming a message of national cohesion, reminding Kenyans that the country belongs to all citizens and calling for dialogue over disruption.
The statement comes amid heightened political engagement by youth across the country.
