President William Ruto has announced a fresh round of changes within Kenya’s Foreign Service as the country’s global footprint now spans 72 countries and territories.
In a press release issued by the Executive Office of the President under, the Head of State confirmed a mix of new ambassadorial nominations and redeployments to fill vacancies created by the end of tenure of serving diplomats, as well as to staff newly established missions approved by Cabinet.
New Ambassadorial Nomination to Denmark
Among the key appointments is the nomination of Mr. Kosiom Frank Ole Kibelekenya as Ambassador to Copenhagen, Kingdom of Denmark.
The President has formally transmitted this nomination to the National Assembly for consideration and approval in accordance with constitutional requirements.
Senior Diplomatic Appointments and Redeployments
The President also appointed Mr. Elias Bare Shill as Deputy Ambassador to Mogadishu, Federal Republic of Somalia, reinforcing Kenya’s diplomatic engagement in the Horn of Africa.
In a strategic redeployment, Ambassador Dr. Joseph Warui has been reassigned to Moscow, Russian Federation, while Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Nur has been appointed to serve in Dar es Salaam, United Republic of Tanzania, further consolidating Kenya’s regional and international relations.
The latest changes reflect the administration’s attempt to recalibrate Kenya’s diplomatic corps in line with evolving foreign policy priorities, regional dynamics, and emerging global partnerships.
