Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has dismissed emerging political figures seeking to challenge the coalition between President William Ruto and Raila Odinga in the 2027 General Election, describing their ambitions as “impossible.”
Speaking on Monday during a boda boda empowerment event at Siaya KMTC grounds, Kindiki said the Ruto–Odinga alliance represents a “broad-based” administration that has effectively delivered on its promises to Kenyans.
“We respect Raila Odinga and William Ruto. They are working together and are leading us. The future of Kenya is broad-based,” Kindiki told the crowd.
“I see new political aspirants showing theatrics about how they will defeat Ruto and Raila Odinga. Is it even possible to defeat the combination of the two?”
The Deputy President praised the government’s investment in the Lake Victoria region, highlighting the administration’s commitment to the blue economy. He said the sector had witnessed unprecedented growth under the joint leadership of President Ruto and Mr Odinga.
According to Kindiki, the State has received KSh3.2 billion in grants for beach management along Lake Victoria, funding that aims to boost fish farming and tourism in the region.
“The amount of development in Siaya has never happened since Kenya gained independence. This is the first government to invest in the blue economy to improve the lives of fish farmers, with the support of Raila Odinga,” he added.
Kindiki further asserted that the Kenya Kwanza administration’s record of development would remain unmatched. He said the government was focused on implementing an expansive development agenda across the country, insisting that its impact could not be undone by political rhetoric.
“President Ruto’s government is delivering real change. Our development record speaks for itself, and no opposition figure can contest that,” he added.
The Deputy President’s remarks come amid growing political activity ahead of the 2027 polls, with new entrants signalling intentions to challenge the existing alliance.
