Nairobi — Bien-Aimé Baraza, the celebrated Kenyan singer and songwriter, is set to headline a major concert at the Carnivore Grounds this month. The event could mark the most significant solo performance of his career so far.

Bien has spent the past two years on the road with Alusa Continua, his debut solo album released in 2023. The 16-track record drew praise for its mix of afrobeats, amapiano, R&B, and Kenyan rhythms. Tracks like Inauma and My Baby, his collaboration with Nigerian star Ayra Starr, have turned him into a global name.

The world tour has taken him across Europe, North America, Asia, and Africa, where he earned a reputation as a powerful live act. But the Nairobi show is different. It is his first major solo concert at home since Sauti Sol, the band he co-founded, went on hiatus in 2023.

For many fans, it is more than just another gig. It is a homecoming.

On social media, anticipation is running high. One fan wrote: “We’ve waited too long for this. Bien’s live vocals are magical. This will be history in the making.” Another said: “Alusa Continua healed souls when it dropped. Hearing it live will be therapy.”

The concert promises a full live band, top-level stage production, and possible surprise guest acts. Organisers say they expect the energy at Carnivore to rival any of Bien’s international shows.

Bien’s success is being seen as a milestone for Kenyan music. By blending global sounds with local roots, he has helped push East African music onto bigger stages. His concert in Nairobi reflects a wider trend of African artists returning home to celebrate their journeys after touring the world.

For fans, the countdown has begun. One joked online: “Let me start saving now because I know I’ll cry, dance, and vibe at the same time.”

Whether Carnivore can contain the energy remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: Bien’s homecoming will not go unnoticed.
