Commander Nguli commended the vigilance of local residents whose timely tip-off led to the successful interception of the suspects and the seized explosives.
Nguli urged the public to continue providing crucial information to assist law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and security.
The two suspects, whose identities are yet to be disclosed, were allegedly transporting the illicit cargo in a Probox vehicle when law enforcement intercepted them. The explosives, believed to have originated from Tanzania, were intended for an undisclosed destination within Kenya.
Nguli emphasized the gravity of the situation, saying, “Not only were these individuals operating without the necessary travel documents, indicating their presence in the country was illegal, but they were also attempting to smuggle explosives for illicit activities.”
