One year and two months following the private wedding of Britney Spears, aged 41, and Sam Asghari, aged 29, Sam has initiated divorce proceedings. According to sources, Sam has already departed from the residence they shared and settled into a new dwelling. This marks Britney’s third marital separation.
Britney’s first husband was Jason Alexander, who was married to Spears for less than three days in 2004. Her second husband, Kevin Federline was her backup dancer and after 3 months of dating got married in 2004 and divorced in 2007. The pair share two children together, sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.
According to a source, the two splitting is best for Britney. The two met in Britney’s Slumber Party 2016 music video and started dating. In September 2021, the two got engaged before getting married in June 2022 in a star-studded ceremony.
Britney had been fighting to terminate the conservatorship her family placed her under in 2008. The conservatorship meant that Britney could not make any legal authority over her contracts, medical decisions, and legal marriage.

The conservatorship was finally terminated in 2021. During her testimony, Britney shared that she wanted to have more children but due to the conservatorship, she was not allowed to remove her intrauterine device, a contraceptive.
Asghari and Spears had announced that they were expecting a baby but later shared that they had suffered a miscarriage in what Britney termed as a ‘miracle baby’ back in May. Last month, Britney posted photos of her and Sam riding horses on the beach.
