A 39-year-old woman is nursing serious toe injuries at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital after a terrifying robbery incident that took place on yesterday night.
The victim, who had just left a chama meeting in Nyalenda at approximately 9 pm, fell prey to a gang of four motorcycle-riding assailants in the Buddies area.
According to reports, the criminals kidnapped her and drove towards Kiboswa along Kakamega road. However, the attack took a horrifying turn when they stopped near Mamboleo.
In an act of cruelty, the assailants cut off the woman’s toes, stole Ksh.12,000 in cash, and also snatched her phone before fleeing the scene.
The following morning, the victim was rushed to JOOTRH, where she underwent surgery to stabilize her condition.
Hospital officials are closely monitoring her recovery as the authorities are actively investigating the case to bring the culprits to justice.

In another tragic incident, two lives were lost in Lokichar, Turkana County, as a result of an unresolved debt.
The dispute originated from a Ksh.50 debt, allegedly related to the sale of a chicken. One of the individuals involved stabbed the other in the chest, leading to an immediate fatality.
An eyewitness at the scene reported that the assailant attempted to escape the wrath of an angry mob that had gathered. Unfortunately, the mob caught up with him and subjected him to a violent end by stoning.
Both bodies have been transferred to the morgue at Lodwar Teaching and Referral Hospital. Local elders have strongly condemned the incident and are urging the youth to seek peaceful means of resolving disputes, rather than resorting to violence.
