After years of keeping the identity of her baby daddy hidden, gospel musician Justina Syokau has decided to unmask him. Syokau took to Instagram to disclose that her baby daddy and ex-husband is Johnstone Vundi Musyoka. Who also happens to be former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka’s brother.

She opened up about the troubled relationship, which led to their divorce in 2013. The musician cited infidelity and other issues as reasons for the collapse of their marriage.
In her Instagram post, Syokau expressed her exhaustion from living a lie. Therefore her decision to share the details of her relationship with Musyoka. She revealed that they got married in June 2012 but parted ways in August 2013. From their marriage, they were blessed with a son named Nixon Musyoka Vundi.
Syokau disclosed that trouble started brewing in her marriage after the birth of their son. She narrated that her ex-mother-in-law intervened and made it clear that her husband would not take responsibility for their child. The mistreatment and threats from her mother-in-law led to a strained relationship between Syokau and her husband. Which according to her, led to their separation.
As per Syokau, her ex-husband works as an officer in the foreign affairs ministry, prison industrial area. She claimed that he resorted to threats, going as far as threatening her life. Which consequently prompted her to seek legal intervention. She revealed that she took him to court, where he was ordered to pay child support of Ksh. 8,000 per month. However, he stopped sending money after a few months, leading to further court proceedings.
The gospel singer highlighted the challenges she faced while trying to secure proper financial support for her son’s well-being. She lamented that her ex-husband refused to pay school fees for their child. He only agreed to pay Ksh. 4,500 for upkeep. This was contrary to the court’s order to pay Ksh. 7,000 monthly. The situation became emotionally taxing for Syokau and her child. As a result, forcing her to endure financial difficulties while raising her son alone.

Adding to her woes, Syokau claimed that her ex-husband funded people on social media to harass and abuse her. She shared that the online attacks have taken a toll on her mental and emotional well-being.
Furthermore, Syokau revealed that she had endured physical abuse during her marriage. She also added that she faced humiliation and depression and kept silent due to societal pressure fear. It was only after she confided in Lynn Ngungi of Tuko Talks that she finally opened up about her experiences.
Syokau apologized to Kenyans who might perceive her actions negatively. Nonetheless, she felt compelled to share her story, especially ahead of her son’s upcoming birthday on August 4th. She expressed sorrow that her son does not know his father. Despite the challenges she has faced, Syokau remains strong for her child.
The gospel musician concluded by asserting that she had never publicly revealed her ex-husband’s name before, fearing the repercussions. However, she decided to share her truth now to bring awareness to the hardships she has endured. In addition to addressing issues surrounding child support and domestic violence.
