Spotify has announced its new prices for ad-free subscribers is only 40% of its subscribers. Spotify has 515 million active users in over 180 markets and 200 million are subscribers.
For the UK, Canada, Australia, and 49 other territories new prices is an increase from Ksh. 1570.33 to Ksh.1725.98 for individual plans. Premium subscribers in the UK will pay an extra 157.02 Kenyan Shillings per month.

In the US, the Premium Duo plan will increase from Ksh.1,845.23 to 2,129.3, the Family plan will increase from Ksh 2,271.38 to 2,413.43, and the Student plan will increase from Ksh 850.88 to 992.93.

In addition, Spotify is to give a one-month grace period for its users before the said users before the new price becomes effective.
Spotify’s new Premium cost matches the monthly plans of competitors Apple Music and Amazon Music.
Spotify is not the only firm that has increased its prices, other competitors like Apple Music, Peacock, Netflix, Max, and Paramount+ have as well.
According to Spotify, the subscription cost increase is, “So that we can keep innovating, we are changing our Premium prices across several markets around the world.”
