Music can be used as a tool of expression and communication. There are songs about love, faith, depression and given the state of a country. In Kenya, we are not short of such songs though few. Music that speaks on our government, economy and politics have a way of hitting a spot amongst country people because they boldly reveal the state of the country in a tune. Here are some songs that have done so over the years:
Mr. Politician by Nakaya.
This song was released fourteen years ago. The song was urging Kenyans not to pick and vote for politicians based on what they say during they campaigns because most of them are empty promises.
It highlights that when they get to government, they make themselves rich and forget the betterment of the people who voted for them like their roads and employment opportunities.

Niko njaa na siwezi karanga are famous lyrics from this song that was released ten years ago. The song speaks on how as a people we are tired of how bad things are and we can no longer take the effects caused by it.
It highlights how politicians are thieves and their selfish behavior affects the people of the country. It also speaks on how we should not let leaders divide the people through tribes .
Tujiangalie by Sauti Sol featuring Nyashinski.
The song released four years ago speaks on how the state of the country is getting worse and that it is upto us who are still here to make the change.
It highlights how bad things are in the country from church, the current generation, our leaders and even the economy saying we are getting worse.
