Comedians Carrying The Industry In Kenya

Comedy in Kenya is evolving and fast becoming a means of making a name for yourself, with comedians such as Butita and Njugush even being invited to the State House. President Ruto mentioned that they make millions off their content from social media platforms, making them a benchmark for current entrepreneurs.

And now more and more comedians are sharing their achievements and wealth on their socials from their comedy careers. Here is a list of top comedians doing big things in the vibrant industry:

Crazy Kennar

The comedian has seen immense growth over the past years that has generated many opportunities and achievements. Kennedy Odhiambo aka Crazy Kennar, mainly shares his content on his social media platforms showcasing funny moments of the daily normal life of Kenyans.  He did some funny videos with Ruto when he was still campaigning back in 2022.

He has achieved awards such as Comedian Influencer of the Year and the Go Beyond Influencer of the Year Award. He has mentioned before that he and his team are very serious about creating content and can create up to ten videos a day.

Crazy Kennar

Njugush

Timothy Kimani Ndegwa aka Njugush started out as an actor at The Real House Helps Of Kawangware. He has grown to fame by him making appearances in advertisements for major brands like Safaricom.

The comedian is known to make hilarious videos depicting current economic situations and the government. He recently hosted a comedy show TTNT4, (Through Thick and Thin) featuring himself and his wife, Wakavinye, that sold out and it left many laughing for hours.

Terrence Creative

Lawrence Macharia, popularly known as Terrence Creative dropped out of college to pursue comedy. After one audition at Churchill, he was picked and worked behind the scenes of the Churchill show production.

He eventually started making his own clips after working on Radio Jambo with his first character being Kamami, a caretaker later on created Papa Freddy, a Congolese scammer that made his fame skyrocket and then got an opportunity to host Thursday Night Live on KTN.
