Collabs between brands have been embraced of late with brands like Gucci and Adidas collaborating, Skims and Fendi collaborating and H&M and Balmain collaborating to create new innovate designs that mixes both their key element styles together.
But what has really created a buzz is when major luxury fashion brands have done collaborations with individually celebrities who are not in the fashion industry parse. The two you need to know about is the Versace and Dolce & Gabanna collaborations done.

The iconic artist Dua Lipa teamed up with the creative director of Versace, Donatella Versace to create a see now-buy now collection for pre-fall 2023. Their timing was perfect because the fashion show was done in Cannes while the Cannes Film Festival was ongoing.
The collection had no specific theme but was more about freedom, confidence and a feel-good vibe. Dua Lipa took a peak from Maison’s collection archive as inspiration to create clothes that represented today’s woman.
The collection had sharp tailoring, baby blue and pink colours, butterfly, ladybugs and polka dots patterns as well as the metal mesh material was embraced. The look that stole the show had to be look 36 modelled by Irina Shayk; a black bodycon dress with an open back and a black string thong with a butterfly on it peeping.
Kim Kardashian-Dolce & Gabanna collab.
Back in 2018, Steffano Gabbana commented on a Kardahian picture, that the Kardashian’s are some of the cheapest people in the world. Fast forward to 2022, Dolce & Gabanna do a spring summer 2023, collaboration with Kim Kardashian as the curator. Kim picked out her favourite outfits from the archives between the year of 1987 to 2007. The collection was called Ciao Kim.

It incorporated, a lingerie style that matched Kim’s style and made the clothes more modern with incorporation of jewellery and a black theme.
