African Celebrities who Turned Up at the Met Gala 2023

The fashion world’s most anticipated event, the Met Gala, took place in New York City on the evening of May 1, where African celebrities turned up to represent the continent on the global stage.

This year’s theme was ” Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” and as always, the red carpet was full of celebrities dressed to impress. Among them were several African celebrities who brought their A-game to the event.

One of the most striking appearances was made by Nigerian singer and songwriter Tems, who wore a new signature design from Robert Wun.

The fit was characterized by a black corset-style top, a flowing white finish at the bottom that exudes a regal feel, and gloves that reach the elbow.

The singer looked stunning and left no crumbs. She did it effortlessly.

Nigeria singer Burna Boy also made an impression in a custom regal blue and black suit from Burberry.

Another standout was 25-year-old South Sudan model Anok Yai, who wore a structured strapless dress adorned with gold and silver sequins, with a long fringe elegantly dangled from it.

Another African celebrity in attendance was South Sudan model Adut Akech, who wore a Carolina Herrera gown, which is an iconic label in the fashion industry.

The standout feature of the evening was the sheer black and white pleated tulle evening gown with hand-embroidered pearls and flowers, which also happened to fit perfectly into the trend of the night.
