Kenya Swimming Federation [KSF] will have 30 swimmers represent Kenya in the Cana Zone 4 Championship in Lusaka, Zambia come June.
The Kenyan team will be derived from the current provisional squad of 48 that was picked during the KSF National Championships, at the Kasarani Aquatic Stadium over a week ago.
“It was a
highly successful championship. New talents are being unearthed in the country
and we thank the counties for sending their swimmers to the championships. We will
have more in the months to come,’’ Karani said.
County Swimming Caucus chairman, Kenneth Karani, said the
swimmers will have to train for a period of three weeks before their departure
to Zambia.
Karani is convinced the swimmers selected to compete at
the Cana Zone 4 championship in Zambia will surely make the country proud.
“We have a good crop of swimmers and I believe they
will do the country proud,” he said.
Karani also urged Sports Dispute Tribunal chairman,
John Ohaga, who attended the championship, to ensure the selection process is
smoothened by first having nominations and guaranteeing the swimmers get a
chance to compete.
