The wedding industry in China has experienced significant growth, with a wide range of services now available to couples.
These services can include everything from wedding planning and coordination to photography, videography, makeup and hair styling, floral arrangements, catering, and entertainment.
Many young couples in China view weddings as an important way to showcase their social status and demonstrate their love and commitment to one another.
“Our wedding was supposed to take place last August but had to be postponed several times. Now we want to set a date in spring”, the Chinese two couples said.
One major factor is the country’s growing middle class, which has led to an increase in disposable income and a willingness to spend more on weddings.
Another factor driving the demand for wedding services in China is the country’s ageing population.

Many elderly Chinese people place great importance on traditional wedding customs and rituals, and as such, there is a large market for wedding services that cater to these traditions.

“So far, wedding service bookings are roughly seven times that of the same period in 2022”, an official said.
According to the industry research provider IBIS world, the market size of China’s wedding service industry is expected to exceed $26 billion this year.
