Mourners are being Charged Entry to AKA’s Memorial Service

AKA’s family has announced the date and program for the late rapper’s memorial, and they have expressed gratitude to the late superstar’s fans.

Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known as AKA, will be laid to rest in a private provincial ceremony on Saturday 18 February, following a memorial service at the Sandton Convention Centre on Friday, February 17.

There is, however, a catch. While AKA’s memorial will be open to the public so that fans and friends can pay their respects, attendees will be charged an admission fee.

Yes, the Forbes family is charging mourners to see their son’s body, and tickets are limited.

The Forbes family revealed the details via AKA’s Instagram page, revealing that those who want to attend the memorial can do so by purchasing tickets at Web tickets, but space is limited.

His memorial service will also be live-streamed on his YouTube channel, AKAworldwide.

They went on to thank the public for their support and love and to share that the memorial would be streamed online.

“We as the Forbes family would like to acknowledge the outpouring of love we have received over the past few days.

“Kiernan wasn’t just loved by us as a family, but by the nation, as we’ve seen from loved ones, friends, media tributes, and the MEGACY.

“It is our wish to celebrate the life of Kiernan with those he touched and impacted through his gift of music. His memorial will therefore be open to the public as well as streamed online on YouTube.”
