China has experienced explosive growth in fireworks export stating that 2022 was a stormy year for businesses in most parts of the world.
But in China, fireworks manufacturers have wrapped up the year with Any posting explosive growth in exports.
Wuhan City in central China’s Hunan province is known as the fireworks capital of the globe producing more than 90% of the world’s fireworks.
Factories here have seen orders pouring in from abroad as demand rebounded in Europe and other major markets. Some companies reported an 80% increase in export volume.
“As of now, we have received overseas orders for more than 200,000 boxes of fireworks. Because of the recovery market in Europe, overseas shipments rose by about 400,000 boxes this year”, said an official in the manufacturing factory.
In addition to fireworks products, manufacturers say their bespoke pyrotechnic display services are also becoming increasingly sought after.
“Since the beginning of this year, we have provided foreign clients with more than 120 fireworks show plans a year-on-year increase of about 20 percent”, the official added.

From January to October last year, Hunan Province exported nearly 600 million US dollars’ worth of fireworks, an increase of over 70 percent year on year, 90 percent of them coming from Luoyang.
