Harry Kane to undergo a scan on his right ankle, after injuries he sustained during England’s World Cup victory against Iran.
As is customary the day following a game, neither Kane nor any of the starters from that game participated in open training yesterday.
Kane was replaced in the 76th minute after sustaining an injury in the second half.

After the game, England manager Gareth Southgate explained that Kane’s departure was a precaution.
But later, when the striker was exiting the stadium, strapping was visible around his ankle. Gareth Southgate will have to wait for the scan results to find out if the 29-year-old will play in the second Group B match.
Despite the potentially devastating blow to England, Southgate dismissed fears that his star player would be sidelined after the game.

He said: “I think Harry’s fine. It looked like a bad tackle but he carried on in the game. We took him off because we felt it was a moment in the game we could do that.”
Kane missed 14 games in the 2016–17 season due to ankle issues he had in the past. Additionally, he missed four games in the previous campaign due to an unrelated ankle injury.
The first major setback came in January 2019, when he missed eight games for Tottenham after tearing an ankle ligament.
He then had two more niggles in 2021, bringing his total number of games missed due to ankle issues to 20.
Down with a knee injury
Lucas Hernandez is the latest player from France to be ruled out of the World Cup.
The Bayern Munich defender was forced off in the first half of Tuesday’s 4-1 win over Australia, and subsequent scans revealed a rupture of his right knee’s anterior cruciate ligament.

It means Hernandez will be sidelined for an extended period of time and will not be able to compete in the holders’ World Cup defense in Qatar.
National team boss Didier Deschamps said: “Like the whole group, players and staff, I am extremely sorry for Lucas.
“We are losing an important element. Lucas is a warrior and I have no doubt that he will do everything possible to return to the game.
“First plan, I know him well. Courage, he will have it, that’s for sure.
“On behalf of the group, I wish him the best possible recovery.”
Hernandez is the third player to leave France’s camp since the squad arrived for the tournament, with Karim Benzema and Christopher Nkunku also injuring themselves in the last week.
Deschamps was already missing N’Golo Kante, Presnel Kimpembe, and Paul Pogba, but France began their World Cup defense with a convincing Group D victory over Australia.
