According to Forbes Latest NBA Team Values buying a team today means an owner can quickly begin to pocket cash and never have to put in another dime.
Golden State Warriors top Forbes 2022 Team Valuation list at $7 Billion. The Warriors broke financial records in the league by bringing in more than $250 million from premium seats, the highest in the league, and $150 million from arena sponsorships and advertising, more than any other team.
In the past seven Team Valuation Listings by Forbes the New York Knicks have dominated as the most valuable team. In the 2022 Forbes Team valuation List, they come in second, valued at $6.1 Billion.
The Los Angeles Lakers come in third, valued at $5.9 Billion, followed by Chicago Bulls, valued at $4.1 Billion and the Bolton Celtics complete the Top 5, valued at $4 Billion.

The NBA is clearly on a growing trajectory after making huge losses during the Covid pandemic. The average value of each NBA team is now at $2.86 Billion, 15% more than a year ago.
Advertising revenue at team and league level and aggregate record sponsorship raked in the biggest returns, at $1.35 Billion last year.
The only team that had a loss last season was the Brooklyn Nets, and the average debt/enterprise value of the 30 teams is just 10%.
The New Orleans Pelicans are bottom of the list among the 30 NBA teams with all teams valued at $1.6 billion or more.
