Rishi Sunak manifesto, Liz Truss’ ‘mistakes’

Rishi Sunak the incumbent United Kingdom’s Prime Minister according to his first speech after election.

He supports and is committed to the 2019 Tories manifesto that saw Boris Johnson get elected.

The 2019 Tories manifesto despite it being made before the pandemic and the Ukraine invasion, is in play with the new prime minister reign. The main slogan was ‘Get Brexit Done , Unleash Potential’

Get Brexit Done

Former PM Boris Johnson had vowed to get Brexit ‘done’ in January 2020 if he won the 2019 general election. On January 31st 2020 true to his pledge the UK left the bloc, making history as the first sovereign country to make the move.

Increase number of nurses by 50,000 by 2024

According to report published early this year, there has been an increase of nurses working in the health service compared to September 2019.In numbers there more than 27,000 more, in total 327,907 is the number.

This is despite elimination of grants that facilitated the training of nurses contributing to subsequent decline of applicants.

Rise of pensions at least by 2.5% annually

This is to cushion the citizens after retirement and to ensure they would get good healthcare services among other essential services.

Pension was set to increase by the CPI measure of inflation/wage growth or 2.5% annually.

Democracy commission

For quite sometime the Britons had lost their trust in the institutions and how democracy operates.

In a bid to restore trust, there was to be a commission to review the Constitution and offer proposals on the same.

However so for it has not materialized.

This has been maintained, the cost is the same from previous years.

Immigrants have equal rights as the citizens hence a point based system is crucial. After Brexit new point based system was adopted in UK

Job offered from an approved employer or better qualifications is a bonus to an immigrant.

Liz Truss tenure

She as an over achiever she assumed Briton’s main concern was growth and she effortlessly worked on it.

However the growth ideology only favored the wealthiest, spooked the markets and cashed the economy, overall undermining Britain’s credibility worldwide.

Britons whose trust in the system is at stake, they suffered sky rocketing energy bills, housing problems due to rising mortgage.

The economy was in distress in the 44days that she was in office.

With Tories objective she stood a chance for a turn around and earning the Britons’ benefit of doubt.
