The Draft Verdict of the Supreme Court on the petition against the win of President William Ruto that was upheld by the apex court will be available on Monday 26th September as declared by the Court.
The verdict upholding the former deputy president’s win was controversial as it faced various dissenting opinions from Raila Odinga and his counterparts of the Azimio One Kenya Coalition Party who believed that there had been foul play.
According to Letiza Wachira, the court’s registrar, in a notice released on Saturday, September 24, said that the verdict will be sent through email to the petitioners, respondents, interested parties, and the media.
This comes after the Chief Justice had requested up to 21 days to draft the complete verdict, as she declared the petition by the Azimio leaders Raila and Karua empty of enough evidence.
Further citing that the two opposition leaders had presented forged and fake evidence in court and could not prove that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) systems were hacked and manipulated by the Venezuelan national, Jose Camargo.
After the printing out of the verdict is when the embattled Azimio leader Raila Odinga would take further action against the verdict he disapproved urging his supporters to be calm.
He criticized the Judiciary openly as well as the electoral body IEBC for failing to perform with objectivity at a time when the nation and its citizens needed them the most.
“Shame on the Judiciary of this country. We will talk. Her actions are clearly sycophantic; she has demeaned the dignity of the office of CJ. In less than a year, she has destroyed what her predecessors achieve in 10 years,” an irked Raila lamented, insisting that he will shape the country’s legal and political agenda after reading the full verdict.
Raila upon getting back into the country had threatened a possible march with millions of the people toward the Judiciary in a call for change and delivery of justice.
