Safaricom Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Kris Senanu has called it quits his position role in a bid to pursue other interests.
According to Peter Ndegwa, Safaricom Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Senanu will be perusing other interests in the coming days. Details about his next workstation have not been revealed.
“I would like to announce that our chief Enterprise Business Officer, Kris Senanu, has made the Decision to pursue other interests outside Safaricom,” Ndegwa stated.
Back in 2021, Senanu alongside Steve Okeyo, who served as head of Enterprise Business and Managing Director for Consumer Service delivery units, respectively Telkom Kenya, left the third–largest operator in the country.
A couple of months later, Senanu joined Safaricom as Chief Enterprise Business Officer. Ndegwa pointed out that Senanu joined Safaricom in June 2021.
Senanu has been glorified by the Safaricom CEO for his exceptional leadership and contribution to Safaricom.

“During his time, he has re-established and enhanced Safaricom a leader in the enterprise space, grown mobility business, and initiated digital transformation initiatives to enable SME DIY,” Ndegwa lauded.
According to Ndegwa’s announcement, Senanu whose last working day is May 31, will be replaced by Joseph Wanjohi in an acting capacity.
“Joseph Wanjohi will act as interim chief Enterprise Business Officer from 1st June 2022 as we initiate the relevant talent sourcing process to identify the next enterprise business unit leader,” Safaricom CEO noted.
Wanjohi joined Safaricom in 2003 as the Sector Manager for Manufacturing and Energy. He has held various positions including Senior Manager Multinationals, Energy, Media and ICT before being appointed to the current role of Head of Enterprise Sales in 2007.
He will begin his role as the Sales Head next month and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing.
Ndegwa thanked Senanu for the outstanding work he has executed while in Safaricom and wished him all the best in his future endeavours.
