President Uhuru Kenyatta has been spotted this Wednesday 31st August walking in Mombasa County in the Old Town area where he is said to have had a meal with ODM leaders.
H.E Uhuru was in the company of governor-elect Abdulswammad Nassir, outgoing governor Hassan Ali Joho, Kilifi County Governor Gideon Mung’aro, Nairobi Woman Representative-elect Esther Passaris, and former Murang’a Woman Rep Sabina Chege among others.
Based on the presidential security detail, the president is said to have broken security protocol after clips went viral of his casual walk in the streets of Mombasa while freely interacting with members of the public, greeting and taking pictures.
This appearance solidifies his ties with the Azimio leaders as he is seen at Mombasa just a day after the win bagged by the Mombasa governor-elect Nassir who won the seat against his rival Hassan Omar of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
Residents and leaders couldn’t hide their happiness and amazement at meeting the president in such a casual manner and the outgoing Woman representative Chege remarked on her happiness and will to celebrate the president’s presence among them and governor’s win.
Uhuru is yet to make a statement about the outcome of the presidential election, neither has he congratulated his deputy, William Ruto for being declared the president-elect.
As the ongoing court battle ensues, the president has not yet commented on the August elections that have been petitioned by a party he is a chairman to that’s Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party.
Its said President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday held a closed-door meeting with newly elected Azimio leaders in Mombasa and Kilifi. In the meeting that took place at outgoing Mombasa governor Hasaan Ali Joho’s office.
Revelations of the secret meeting are still unknown due to the no media allowed state of the meeting that was conducted in Mombasa County this afternoon.
