The Kenya National Chambers of Commerce & Industry and MXM Exhibitors – Dubai-based event organizers are set to host the Agro-based Expo of the Agro-Food Pack Exhibition which seeks to enhance the country’s agricultural sector.
The Agro Food Park model essentially brings farmers, input suppliers, processors, retailers, wholesalers, exporters, and other business service providers. Above all their will be links between agricultural producers and the market.
Attending the event is an estimated 1500 exhibitors from over six countries who will participate in the event that is to shed light on new frontlines for world-shattering technologies, solutions, and innovations. Exhibitors are to be drawn from Burundi, China, France, Kenya, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Turkey, and UAE.
Mr. Opio in reference to the three-day expo, set to begin on September 2nd -4th at Sarit Centre-Nairobi, alluded that the agricultural sector is vital in job creation for Kenyan youth.
He went on revealing about the partnership with MXM Exhibitors in hosting the event as a great commitment. This will be an enhancement of inter-country trade by helping local SMEs document and share experiences with foreign countries.
Not forgetting that there will be an important exhibition at the Expo but also tap into the need for a technological prowess.

Capabilities of the Expo are targeting both entrepreneurs in the Agricultural and manufacturing sectors, providing a platform for technology transfer, boosting inter-trade and enhancing the opening of the gateway for Kenya to the International world.
According to Mudasir Mohammed, MXM Exhibitors, Expo organizer, this occurrence will boost foreign direct investments. Providing a chance to tap into the Kenya government’s Big Four Agenda by provision of trade and technological exchange opportunities globally.
In summary, some of the key areas of focus to be covered in the Exhibition are; Dairy and Poultry, Grains and Storage, Food and Flavors, Biscuits, Cakes, Packaging and processing Machines, as well as Plastics.

Mr. Opio also commended that to ensure maximization of value addition and a reduction in post-harvest losses, there is a need to create better-integrated value chains.
The Agro Food Park model aims to ensure greater value addition to farm produce, boosted income for farmers, lower post-harvest losses, reduced price volatility and increased exposure to more efficient and effective technology for agricultural production.
