Media personality Willis Raburu, has confessed that his health was the reason he felt compelled to get weight loss surgery.
The host of the 10-Over -10 Show recently opened up in an interview with Youtuber Mungai Eve about how he underwent weight-loss surgery, saying that it cost him over Ksh. 900,000.
According to Raburu, going to the gym didn’t work out for him, so he decided to have surgery.
“I went for gastric bypass surgery. I respect watu wanaenda gym. Gym ni kazi, nilikua na good trainers but nilikua na loss weight but inarudi.
(Although I had a good gym trainer, I would lose weight and then regain it)
“By the time I was going for the surgery I was not doing well. I was 164kgs I needed the surgery because my blood pressure and cholesterol were high,” he added.
According to him, the surgery has assisted him in reducing his food intake, which will subsequently aid in his gradual weight loss.
As part of a weight-loss procedure called a gastric bypass, the stomach and small intestines no longer process food as they once did.
A considerably greater portion of the stomach is removed in order to create a tiny pouch at the top of the stomach.
The remainder of the stomach is missed (bypassed) as the pouch is subsequently attached to your small intestine.
This implies that it takes less food to fill you up.
Kenyans have now expressed a variety of responses and viewpoints regarding the incident, with some claiming that he could have spent a smaller portion of the money on a gym membership and continued to be as healthy instead of having the surgery.
Others, on the other hand, have agreed with him, noting that if you have the money, you may spend it anyway you like.
