British professional wrestler Benjamin Satterley, better known as Pac, has died at 40, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has confirmed.
The Newcastle upon Tyne-born wrestler’s death was announced on Sunday, September 27, just a day after he appeared at AEW’s All Out event in Chicago. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Satterley began his professional wrestling career in 2004 and went on to compete internationally before joining AEW in 2019. He was also known to WWE audiences as Adrian Neville and Neville.
A career spanning two decades
Satterley built his reputation through his fast-paced, high-flying style and competed for major wrestling organisations including WWE, New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Mexico’s Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre.
During his WWE career, he performed as Neville and won the NXT Championship as well as the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. He later became one of AEW’s established performers and held multiple championships with the company.
His final AEW appearance
Satterley had appeared at All Out on September 26 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, near Chicago. Reports said he competed during the event and was also involved in other segments of the show.
His death was announced less than 24 hours later, prompting an outpouring of tributes from across professional wrestling.
AEW said Satterley had “captivated fans” around the world and competed in some of the organisation’s most memorable matches. The company offered its condolences to his family, friends and fans.
Wrestlers pay tribute
WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman described Satterley’s death as a “truly terrible loss”, while AEW president Tony Khan praised his wrestling ability and character.
British wrestler Will Ospreay also paid tribute, calling Satterley both a major talent and a close figure in the wrestling community.
Satterley’s death has left fans and fellow wrestlers mourning a performer whose career stretched across more than two decades. Further details about the circumstances of his death have not been released.
