President William Ruto attended a Sunday church service at the Africa Inland Church (AIC) Makutano in Taita Taveta County on August 23.

The President joined worshippers for prayers and fellowship during his visit to the county, where he is also holding engagements with local leaders and residents.

President Ruto’s appearance at the church is part of a pattern that has marked many of his weekend programmes. He has regularly attended services in different parts of the country, using the gatherings to meet residents and local leaders.

His visits to Taita Taveta have also included discussions on development and social protection programmes affecting communities in the county.

The church service came as President Ruto continued his engagements in the region. His presence drew attention from worshippers and residents who gathered to welcome him.

The President has often used church gatherings as an opportunity to speak directly to communities, while his critics have questioned the extent to which political matters should feature in religious settings.

At AIC Makutano, however, the focus of the visit was the Sunday service and fellowship with the congregation.

President Ruto’s church visits remain a regular feature of his public schedule as he travels across the country to meet Kenyans and local leaders.
