Ruto’s UDA Convenes Aspirants’ Forum at State House Ahead of 2027 General Elections

President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has formally announced plans to convene its Aspirants’ Forum as preparations for the 2027 General Elections gather momentum.

In a notice issued on January 21, 2026, UDA Secretary-General Sen. Hassan Omar said the meeting will take place on February 4, 2026, at State House, Nairobi.

The forum will bring together all UDA-registered aspirants intending to contest for any elective position under the party’s ticket in the upcoming general elections.

Resolution by UDA Party Leadership

According to the notice, the meeting is being convened pursuant to a resolution passed by the party’s National Steering Committee (NSC) during its sitting on January 20, 2026.

UDA has directed aspirants to register through the party’s official website, with registration opening immediately.

The exercise is expected to help the party compile an updated database of aspirants and facilitate structured engagement on party policies, nomination processes, and campaign preparedness.

Early Signals for 2027

The Aspirants’ Forum is widely seen as a key early step in shaping UDA’s 2027 electoral strategy. By convening aspirants at this stage, the ruling party appears keen to promote lay the groundwork for the 2027 battle.

The meeting at State House also signals the political weight the party attaches to early planning as Kenya gradually transitions into the pre-election period.
