Aston Villa Shock Arsenal With Last-Second Winner
Aston Villa blew the title race wide open after scoring with the final kick of the match to beat Arsenal 2–1 at Villa Park. The winning goal came deep into stoppage time, when Emiliano Buendía reacted quickest inside a crowded box and curled the ball into the far corner.
The late strike ended Arsenal’s long unbeaten run and continued Villa’s strong form at home. Villa had already taken the lead in the first half through Matty Cash before Arsenal responded early in the second half. The chaotic final moments, however, left Arsenal stunned and the home crowd roaring as Villa celebrated another major win this season.

Chelsea Lose Momentum After Stalemate at Bournemouth
Chelsea’s push to keep pace with the top sides suffered another setback after a frustrating 0–0 draw away at Bournemouth. Coming off a midweek defeat to Leeds, Chelsea again started slowly and survived several early scares, including Bournemouth chances ruled out for offside and strong penalty appeals waved away.
Cole Palmer, making his first league start since August, created some promising moments, but Chelsea struggled to find control. In the second half, they produced more shots, yet Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic kept them at bay. Alejandro Garnacho hit the post, João Pedro came on to add energy, but the breakthrough never arrived.
The point leaves Chelsea further away from the top, with missed chances and slow starts becoming a worrying trend for Enzo Maresca’s team.

Manchester City Ease Past Sunderland to Close Gap
Manchester City took full advantage of Arsenal’s defeat by beating Sunderland 3–0 at the Etihad Stadium. City scored twice in an efficient first half, with Ruben Dias firing in a powerful strike from long range and Josko Gvardiol heading in from a corner.
City briefly lost control in the second half, needing Gianluigi Donnarumma to make key saves, but settled the result when Rayan Cherki produced a clever rabona pass for Phil Foden, who finished calmly for City’s third. Sunderland went down to ten men late on, ending any hope of a fightback.
The win moves City to within touching distance of the top of the table, with momentum shifting back in their favour.

Spurs Return to Winning Ways as Simons Shines
Tottenham won at home in the league for the first time since August with a confident 2–0 victory over Brentford. Richarlison scored the opener after a sharp run and cross from Xavi Simons, who delivered his strongest performance since joining Spurs.
Simons added the second goal himself before halftime, winning the ball high up the pitch and driving forward to score a low, composed finish. Spurs controlled the match from that point, with Brentford unable to build sustained pressure.
The win gives Tottenham a much-needed lift after several difficult weeks, while Brentford’s poor away form continued.

Premier League Picture

The weekend’s results offer a major shift in the title race:
- Arsenal lose late at Villa
- Chelsea miss chance to close the gap
- Manchester City move within two points of the top
- Spurs end their slump with a strong home win
With momentum swinging, the top of the table is now more competitive than it has been all season.
