Big Premier League clubs step up their search for midfield reinforcements as Anderson, McTominay and Semenyo dominate the latest transfer rumours

Manchester United have joined Liverpool and Newcastle in the race for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, according to the Times. The 23-year-old is valued at around £100m and is viewed by United as a possible long-term replacement for Casemiro, 33. All three clubs are monitoring the England midfielder ahead of the January window.

Arsenal are also exploring a surprise move for Scott McTominay, reports Teamtalk. The 28-year-old Scotland international, now at Napoli, is attracting interest from several Premier League sides including Tottenham, Everton and Manchester United.

Crystal Palace could revive their push for Sporting defender Ousmane Diomande, with A Bola reporting that the club may return for the Ivory Coast international. Palace shortlisted Diomande last summer when Marc Guehi was expected to join Liverpool.

Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal are all keeping a close eye on Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, 25, according to Talksport. His strong form this season has put him back on the radar of several top sides.

In the Championship, Sunderland have not ruled out a January move for Lazio midfielder Matteo Guendouzi. The Northern Echo says the France international could be available for between £22m and £26m.

Arsenal are also close to securing a new long-term deal for Bukayo Saka, whose current contract runs until 2027, reports Sky Sports.

Tottenham’s search for a new striker has led them to Porto forward Samu Aghehowa, 21, according to Teamtalk. But Caught Offside reports that Chelsea and Manchester United could also join the race for the former Atletico Madrid attacker.

Crystal Palace defender Chadi Riad, 22, could leave on loan in January as he looks to regain match fitness after two major injuries, says Sky Sports.

Wolves have identified Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford, 23, as a key target for the next window (Teamtalk). But City may use Trafford in a player-plus-cash deal to try and sign Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento, also 23, says Teamtalk.

Liverpool are willing to sell Harvey Elliott, 22, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa, according to Football Insider. Bundesliga and Serie A clubs are monitoring his situation.

Inter Milan are interested in Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, 33, with Football Insider reporting that Villa will listen to offers.

Crystal Palace have also held talks with striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, 28, as transfer interest grows around the France forward (Sky Sports).

At youth level, Liverpool are fighting to keep Joshua Abe, with Arsenal and Chelsea both pursuing the 15-year-old, reports the Mail.
