Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Set for Prison Release in May 2028

Sean “Diddy” Combs is set to leave prison in May 8, 2028, according to new information from the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The rapper and music mogul was sentenced to 50 months in prison after being found guilty on two counts of transporting women to engage in prostitution.

The sentence comes after a long trial that ended with a mixed verdict. Combs was acquitted of the more serious sex trafficking and racketeering charges, which could have sent him to prison for decades. He has already spent about a year in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest in September 2024.

Combs’ lawyers have said they are appealing the conviction and are also pursuing a possible presidential pardon. Former President Donald Trump confirmed in interviews that Combs’ legal team reached out to him about the matter but said a pardon would be “difficult” because of Combs’ past criticism of him.

During the trial, jury members saw video footage of Combs assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016. Ventura testified that Combs abused her physically and emotionally during their 10-year relationship and often forced her into unwanted sexual acts. Another woman, using the name “Jane,” also testified that she was abused and exploited by Combs.

Judge Arun Submaranian said at sentencing that Combs “used power and control to abuse the women he claimed to love.”

Combs still faces about 70 civil lawsuits, with many accusers saying they were sexually assaulted or drugged by him. He has denied all claims, and several of those cases have already been dismissed.
