The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has said it will continue working with the broad-based government and remain united despite reports of internal division.

Speaking after a Central Management Committee meeting, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna said the party stands by the late Raila Odinga’s vision of a peaceful and united Kenya.

“We remain committed to the broad-based government until 2027, guided by the ten-point agenda signed for the sake of peace and stability,” said Sifuna.

He dismissed claims of disunity in the party, saying ODM leaders are focused on protecting Raila’s legacy and keeping the movement strong.

“ODM is not just a political party; it is a covenant that we must renew. We will not allow divisions or fights over Raila’s political inheritance,” Sifuna added.

ODM also announced plans for memorial services in honor of Raila Odinga, starting in Magarini, Kilifi County, on November 2 and 3, then moving to Homa Bay and Migori on November 5 and 6.

The party will also hold its 20th anniversary celebrations from November 14 to 16, which will focus on unity and reflection.

ODM leaders have recently called for calm within the Luo community, urging members to avoid rushing into succession politics after Raila’s death.

Homa Bay Governor and ODM chairperson Gladys Wanga said there is no leadership vacuum and warned against divisive competition for the “Luo kingpin” title.
