Leaders commit to deeper partnership on development and global issues
WINDSOR, UK — President William Ruto on Thursday held bilateral talks with the Prince of Wales during an official visit to the United Kingdom, signaling renewed efforts to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between Nairobi and London.

The meeting took place at Windsor Castle, where President Ruto and Prince William discussed a broad range of issues including sustainable development, climate action, and regional security.
“Our talks were anchored in a shared commitment to mutual progress,” President Ruto said after the meeting. “We are working together to deliver real benefits to our people, protect the planet, and confront global challenges.”
The discussions come amid rising global tensions and increasing calls for stronger international cooperation on pressing issues such as climate change, economic resilience, and conflict prevention in Africa.
According to a statement released by State House Nairobi, the talks also focused on strengthening economic cooperation and expanding investment opportunities between the two countries. Both leaders emphasized the need for partnerships that create jobs, protect the environment, and promote long-term stability.
President Ruto reaffirmed Kenya’s dedication to advancing diplomatic ties rooted in shared values. “This partnership goes beyond goodwill it’s about building a sustainable and secure future for our citizens,” he stated.
