Autopsy Reveals CEO Susan Kamengere was Strangled in Hospital

Njoki-2025

Susan Kamengere Njoki, CEO and Mental Health Advocate, was found to have been manually strangled in hospital, a post‑mortem has confirmed.

The 38‑year‑old, founder of Toto Touch Kenya, died on 15 July, just hours after being taken from her Kileleshwa home. Audio recordings and family testimony allege she was restrained and given injections against her will.

A brutal post‑mortem finding
At a mortuary gathering six pathologists reviewed her body, reaching identical conclusions: she died of neck compression and oxygen deprivation consistent with strangulation. “All… were in consensus,” stated government pathologist Dr J.N. Ndung’u.

They also found food in her stomach, suggesting death occurred less than four hours after she ate.

A distressed cry for help
In chilling audio obtained by KTN News, Susan begs her restrainers:

“Why are you forcing me to take injections? Why are you forcing me to leave this place…?”

She was reportedly taken by two men and two nurses who entered her home, injected her twice there and then again at Chiromo Hospital, Braeside branch, allegedly on orders from her husband, Alois Ngure, and psychiatrist Dr Onyancha.

Family dispute mental‑health narrative
Susan had experienced depression in the past but was reportedly stable and preparing for an interview the next day.

“Do you think they can schedule an interview with a mad woman?” she asked in the recording.

Her family say there was no valid reason for forced admission. They also allege her phone was confiscated and Facebook posts emptying pleas for help were deleted.

Investigations and calls for justice
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched a full inquiry. Investigators are examining audio, hospital records, CCTV footage and her devices. Susan’s husband has given a statement.

Her family insist on an independent autopsy and a judicial inquest. They argue her death highlights systemic abuse in mental‑health policy and hospital care in Kenya.
