Trump Confirms Airstrikes on Iranian Nuclear Sites, Demands Tehran Accept Peace or Face More Attacks
WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump on Saturday night confirmed that U.S. forces carried out targeted airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites, signaling a major escalation in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. The strikes hit Iran’s facilities at Fordo, Natanz, and Esfahan.

“We have completed our very successful attack on the three nuclear sites in Iran,” Trump announced in a statement posted on Truth Social. “All planes are now outside of Iran airspace.” He emphasized that the full payload was dropped on Fordo, a heavily fortified underground site.

The president hailed the operation as a turning point. “This is an historic moment for the United States of America, Israel, and the world. Iran must now agree to end this war,” he declared.

Precision Bombing with High-Powered Munitions
Sources with knowledge of the strike confirmed that American B-2 bombers carried out the mission. These stealth aircraft deployed the 30,000-pound Massive Ordnance Penetrator designed specifically to destroy deeply buried targets. Fordo was reportedly the primary target, a facility past U.S. administrations had avoided attacking due to its hardened defenses and fears of wider regional war.

U.S. officials confirmed that Israel received prior notice before the strikes. Trump spoke by phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the operation concluded.

“This cannot continue,” Trump warned in a televised address. “Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace. If they do not, future attacks will be far greater and a lot easier.”

A First in Modern U.S.-Iran Relations
This marks the first time since the 1979 Iranian Revolution that an American president has authorized direct military strikes on Iran’s core nuclear infrastructure. The move followed a week of heightened tension, failed diplomacy, and multiple Iranian missile launches targeting Israeli cities.

Trump said the U.S. goal was to halt Iran’s nuclear ambitions and prevent the Islamic Republic from threatening global stability. “Our objective was the destruction of Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity and a stop to the nuclear threat posed by the world’s number one state sponsor of terror,” he said.

Iran Warned, U.S. Military on Alert
Trump stated that no additional strikes are planned “for now,” but said the military remains on high alert. He said further operations would follow if Iran refuses to cease hostilities.

“There are many targets left. Tonight’s was the most difficult and perhaps the most lethal,” he said. “If peace does not come quickly, we will go after those other targets with precision, speed, and skill. Most of them can be taken out in a matter of minutes.”

Global reactions and military readiness
Iran has not yet issued an official response to the strike. However, Tehran had previously warned of retaliation if attacked. American forces across the region remain on standby, anticipating potential responses from Iran or its allied groups.

The Pentagon announced that a press briefing will be held Monday morning by General Dan Raisinkane and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to provide operational details.

Trump closed his remarks by thanking U.S. military personnel and allies. “God bless the Middle East. God bless Israel. And God bless America,” he said.

The international community is watching closely as the United States, Iran, and Israel navigate a new phase of conflict that could have global consequences.
