‘Kamum’ Ends Season One as Fans Call Loudly for a Comeback

Nairobi – The first season of Kamum, the Kenyan YouTube comedy created by Eddie Butita, has officially come to a close. Episode 13-the season finale-was released yesterday, drawing an outpouring of praise, debate, and one clear message from fans: we want more.

The series, which first aired on 24 March 2025, quickly found its footing among Kenya’s online audience, thanks to a bold comic style, a strong ensemble cast, and a production quality rarely seen on locally made YouTube content.

But it was Dj Shiti who truly stole the show.

Social media lit up with reactions following the finale’s release, with fans hailing his performance as “unmatched” and “hilarious to the core.” One YouTube viewer wrote: “If there’s no Season 2, we might just storm Butita’s office!”

Alongside Dj Shiti, the cast includes Dem Wa Facebook, Liz Jackson (Mama Adigo), Marie, and Ben Tekee. Each character brought their own brand of humour to the fictional world of Kamum, a reflection of everyday Nairobi life delivered with sharp satire and exaggerated charm.

The set design, crafted by Olive Oak Interiors, has also earned praise for elevating the visual experience of the show. One Instagram user noted, “The set alone looks better than half the shows on TV. Kenyan content is levelling up.”

Still, reactions weren’t all glowing. A handful of fans expressed that some episodes mid-season felt less punchy than the early ones. But even those voices agreed on one point: the series deserves a second chapter.

“Dj Shiti needs his own spinoff,” one fan wrote on X. “But at the very least, give us Season 2.”

Butita has not made an official announcement yet, but he did share a reflective post last night after the final episode aired:
“Kamum Season One. Thank you for the love. It’s been a journey. Let’s see where this road leads.”

With over 13 episodes now live and viewership still climbing, Kamum is being hailed as another win for Kenya’s growing digital content industry.
