Dar es Salaam — Kenya’s Harambee Starlets continued their dominant run at the 2025 CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship with a convincing 4–0 victory over Uganda at the Azam Complex in Chamazi, Tanzania.

The win marked Kenya’s second straight clean-sheet triumph, following a 3–0 opening match win against Burundi. Coach Beldine Odemba rotated her starting squad, making four changes, including goalkeeper Lilian Awuor replacing Annedy Kundu.
Fasila Adhiambo, Enez Mango, and Lavender Akinyi also joined the starting lineup. The adjustments brought immediate impact as Kenya took control early and never let up.
Dorcas Shikobe opened the scoring before Diana Wacera doubled the lead. Wacera then assisted Violet Nanjala with a well-placed through ball, which Nanjala converted in the 28th minute, chipping over Uganda’s advancing goalkeeper.

The Starlets led 3–0 at halftime, putting pressure on Uganda to respond. Despite brief spells of possession, Uganda failed to break down Kenya’s solid defense. Shikobe, Mango, and Ruth Ingotsi shut down Uganda’s advances, keeping the match one-sided.

With eight minutes remaining, Martha Amunyo sealed the result, heading in Kenya’s fourth goal from a cross by Shikobe.
“We stuck to the plan, stayed sharp, and the players delivered exactly what we worked on,” Odemba said after the match.
The Starlets now top their group and will face South Sudan on Thursday, June 19. Their final group match will be against hosts Tanzania on Saturday.

With eight goals scored and none conceded, Kenya’s campaign is off to a commanding start as they aim to reclaim regional glory.
