Diddy Could Walk Free as Prosecutors Drop Major Charges in Sex Trafficking Case

Sean “Diddy” Combs may be inching closer to freedom after prosecutors unexpectedly dropped several of the most serious charges against him in a high-profile sex trafficking and racketeering trial.

In court filings this week, prosecutors confirmed they had withdrawn charges of attempted kidnapping, attempted arson, and abetting sex trafficking. These charges were among the most severe in the case, and their removal could significantly shift the outcome in Diddy’s favour.

The prosecution says the move is aimed at narrowing the case and focusing on “core allegations.” However, legal experts believe this may weaken the overall case.

“It looks like the state is trying to save face by dropping charges they might struggle to prove,” said criminal defence attorney Lisa Grant, speaking to reporters outside the courthouse. “That could open the door for a full acquittal.”

The music mogul has pleaded not guilty to all remaining charges. His defence team has insisted from the beginning that the accusations are “fabricated and driven by ulterior motives.”

Both sides have now rested their arguments. Closing statements are set for today and tomorrow, after which the jury will begin deliberations.

Despite the dropped charges, prosecutors maintain they still have a strong case. “We believe the evidence clearly points to criminal conduct,” a spokesperson for the District Attorney’s office said. “This is about justice for the victims.”

Combs’ lawyers, meanwhile, said the latest development shows the case has been “deeply flawed from the start.” They are now pressing for a full acquittal.

With the trial winding down, the spotlight now shifts to the jury. After weeks of arguments, documents, and testimony, it will be up to twelve men and women to decide whether Diddy walks free—or faces serious consequences.
