Infinix NOTE 50 Pro: The Metal-Clad Smartphone That’s Turning Heads

NAIROBI — In a bold move aimed at redefining the modern smartphone, Infinix has unveiled its latest flagship, the NOTE 50 Pro Series. Built with premium materials and packed with smart features, the series is clearly designed to appeal to a new generation of tech-savvy users.

“The NOTE 50 Pro isn’t just another smartphone,” said Infinix in a statement. “It’s a rethinking of what a flagship should be—powerful, stylish, and smart.”

The centrepiece of this launch is the NOTE 50 Pro, a device that puts metal back in the spotlight with a sleek aluminium and Damascus steel frame—something rare in today’s plastic-dominated market.

A Return to Metal, Without the Weight

In a world where most phones rely on glass or plastic for their outer shell, Infinix is going against the grain. The NOTE 50 Pro uses what it calls ArmorAlloy™—a material mix inspired by aerospace design. It’s lightweight but strong and helps the phone stand up to drops and everyday knocks.

The frame is made using HyperCasting, a one-piece process that adds strength without bulk. It’s paired with a cushion layer called ShockAbsorb™, which has passed TÜV SÜD drop tests—a respected safety standard in the industry.

“We wanted to build something you could feel proud to hold,” the brand said. “And we didn’t want to compromise on durability or comfort.”

Power That Keeps Up With You

Battery life is often where even premium phones fall short. Not here.

With a 90W fast charger, the NOTE 50 Pro fills up in under 40 minutes. A hefty 5200mAh battery keeps the phone running all day—even when streaming or gaming.

There’s also wireless charging, and a neat PowerReserve feature that squeezes out extra minutes for calls or maps when you’re down to just 1% battery. And for emergencies, you can use the phone to charge other devices via wired or wireless reverse charging.

Smart Features, Simplified

The NOTE 50 Pro’s standout tech isn’t just under the hood. It’s also in the palm of your hand.

Hold the power button, and you’ll meet Folax—Infinix’s own AI assistant. Folax reads what’s on your screen and helps translate text, search for info, or even draft replies—all without switching apps.

It also supports voice commands for navigation, calling, and messaging, making it a handy companion for busy users or students. Folax can generate emails, turn sketches into images, and even auto-translate phone calls in real-time.

For privacy-conscious users, there’s an AI mask that automatically hides sensitive personal details.

Built for Speed—and Gamers

Under the hood, the NOTE 50 Pro runs on a 6nm Helio G100 chip. That may not top the charts, but combined with Infinix’s XBOOST mode and low-lag WiFi tech, it delivers smooth performance for gamers and streamers.

A 4.5G network system speeds up downloads—claimed to be 167% faster than regular 4G. The phone also features intelligent cooling with a vapour chamber, which helps prevent overheating during long sessions.

Health Monitoring in Your Pocket

In what’s being called an industry first, Infinix has added health tracking directly into the phone. Users can place a finger on the back sensor to check heart rate and blood oxygen levels—no wearables required.

All data goes into a built-in My Health app, which can be accessed through the pull-down menu or via Folax. It’s a small but potentially meaningful step toward more accessible wellness tech.

A Visual and Audio Upgrade

The screen is no afterthought. With a 6.78-inch AMOLED display running at 144Hz and reaching up to 1300 nits brightness, visuals are sharp and vivid—even under direct sunlight. TÜV Rheinland’s eye-care certification means less strain, too.

The rear 50MP Night Master camera handles low light with ease. There’s also a 112° wide-angle lens and a fast “Double-Tap Street Mode” for spontaneous shots.

For entertainment, the phone is equipped with JBL-tuned dual speakers, and water-and-dust resistance (IP64 rating) gives it a layer of durability outdoors.

A halo lighting system on the back adds colour effects for calls, messages, and charging—giving the device a bit of flair.

Pricing and Colours

The Infinix NOTE 50 Pro comes in three colours—Titanium Grey, Enchanted Purple, and Shadow Black. There’s also a Racing Edition with bold stripes inspired by race cars and a power button inlaid with sapphire crystal.

At Ksh. 31,999, the NOTE 50 Pro lands squarely in the mid-range price tier. But with its metal body, fast charging, and rich feature set, Infinix is betting it’ll feel like a flagship.

Whether it lives up to that title will depend on how it performs in users’ hands. But for now, the NOTE 50 Pro is making a loud entrance in a very crowded room—and it’s doing so in style.
