The BET Awards 2024 took place on Sunday, June 30, at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. The Awards featured celebrities take home awards. The event was hosted by the renowned actress Taraji P. Henson. The annual event celebrates black music and artists in the United States and internationally.
The event was highlighted by performances from artists including Sexy Red, Tyla, Megan Thee Stallion, Will Smith, and Lauryn Hill. The award for best international act was won by the popular African musician Tyla —a big win for African music.
Tyla also won the Best New Artist award beating celebrities such as Ayra Starr. The various artists who had wins in different categories include;

Best Male R&B Artist — Usher
Best Group — Ys, Ye, TY Dolla Sign
Best Collaboration — Lil Durk feat.J. Cole (ALL MY LIFE)
Best Female Hip HOP Artist — Nicki Minaj
Best Male Hip Hop Artist — Kendrick Lamar
Video of The Year — Victoria Monet (ON MY MAMA)
The BET Awards held a special segment where artists performed Usher’s songs to commemorate his journey as an artist.
Musician Chole took to the stage performing Usher’s popular hit song Kisser.
