Police in Webuye East are investigating a self-proclaimed clergyman after human body parts were found stashed in a carton in his car.
The discovery was made when he took his vehicle to a carwash at Amazing petrol station in Bungoma’s Masikhu market earlier today.
In the bizarre incident that stalled services at the carwash, the suspect, identified as Levis Simiyu, a pastor at a local ministry in Ndivisi Ward, brought his Toyota Premio for a body wash.
The shocking discovery was made as the service attendant was making the final touches on the car’s boot. The worker noticed a protruding human leg, partly burnt and resting atop other remains. Startled by the sight, the young man abandoned his task, and the petrol station manager quickly took a look at the eerie box.
The manager immediately alerted the police at Webuye station, who arrived promptly before the car owner could drive off. Simiyu is now in custody, assisting with the investigation.
The recovered body parts have been transferred to Webuye County Hospital morgue for preservation and further forensic examination. The police are working to identify the remains and determine the circumstances surrounding this macabre discovery.
Authorities are also investigating any potential connections to recent missing persons cases in the area.
Community members in Ndivisi Ward expressed shock and disbelief upon learning about the incident. Local leaders have called for calm as the investigation continues.
The DCI has urged anyone with information related to the case to come forward to aid in the investigation.
