Kenya Humbles Zambia in the Victoria Rugby Cup in Kampala

In the second match of the Victoria Rugby Cup held at Kyadondo Rugby Club, Kenya Simbas thrashed Zambia 36-12.

Kenya secured an early lead when Ephraim Oduor scored a try, followed by a successful conversion by Jone Kubu, putting them ahead 7-0.

Despite Zambia’s attempts to defend, they couldn’t stop Kenya’s swift and precise passing.

Joel Inzuga added another try for Kenya, and Kubu converted once again, extending the lead to 14-0.

Kenya continued to dominate, with Paul Mutsamis contributing a third try.

Zambia managed to score two penalty points, bringing the score to 19-6.

After the break, Zambia secured another penalty, but Jone Kubu countered with yet another try for Kenya, increasing the score to 24-6.

Kenya, featuring several debutants, went on to score two more tries, while Zambia managed to convert one more penalty, resulting in a final score of 36-12.

Kenya’s assistant coach, Carlos Katywa, expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, especially considering the high number of new players.

“Most of the players are new on the team and this is a good start. We now have to prepare for our next match against the hosts Uganda,” Carlos said.

Uganda, who beat Zambia 30-8, will now face Kenya in the last Victoria Cup match on November 5th.
